Serving my Community, with Love

Sometimes, serving my community looks like signing up to someone’s Patreon to help them pay their bills. Some days it is offering comfort, support, and guidance. Other days, it is helping someone who is learning something new, and yet other days it is about using my knowledge of things that are totally unrelated to witchcraft or Paganism to help someone out.
If I am ever able to help someone out, I do. It’s easy to be kind and loving, and offer help to someone in need. Each act of love builds my community; not just in numbers, but in trust. Each time I offer my help in a time of need, I show the person (or people) that there is still love in the world, and there is hope. Despite how things appear right now, the bad guys are not winning.
People all over the world are offering help and love to people they may not know “in real life”. Little communities are forming and banding together to help each other, and offering loving kindness. It may be less visible than all the bad things that are happening, but that is because these people don’t make the same noise about their actions as the bad guys. We aren’t shouting about it every time we do something loving and kind. It gets overlooked, but it is happening. You just need to know where to look.
Small free libraries filled with groceries and hygiene items are popping up in neighbourhoods, mutual aid groups are appearing, and people in other countries are offering to help those in the US who are terrified for their futures (and lives). I have seen all of these things with my own eyes, and it makes my heart sing.
Hate will not win. We will not allow it.
